1969 Fender Precision Bass

This 1969 Fender bass shows all the features from this era and is all original. This bass was originally owned by Rob Grill, lead singer and bass player of “The Grass Roots”.This bass was used to record their hit “Temptation Eyes” (was also used in "Temptaion Eyes music video) and several other songs. You can feel the rock & roll history in your hands and it plays and sounds amazing!

The bass was acquired from Singer/Bassist for "The Grass Roots" on Sept 28th, 1974 after a show at Seaworld, San Diego and comes with a poster (17" by 14") of the concert (see Pics).
I purchased the bass from it's second owner (I am the 3rd) and how he got the bass is an amazing story....
In 1974 he was attending the above mentioned Sea World concert and after "The Grass Roots" ended their show Rob Grill tossed the bass into the Sea World "Shamu" tank and dared "whoever is crazy enough to jump in and get the bass can have it!" ...As an 18 year old student at USC he took the dare jumped in fully clothed and quickly grabbed the bass. After words security took him backstage to meet the band and Rob Grill told him about the bass (Rob bought it new in 1969) and how it was used on several hits.
How cool is that!
